Two miles of sand facing north, with lefts and rights over shifting banks and room to spread out. The waves are mostly gentle and rolling, good for beginners and longboards, with more push in winter swells. The east end, by the rocks, can turn hollow in big autumn swells but has the strongest rips. It’s best around mid tide, though surfable at any. It needs a north-westerly to northerly swell and is offshore in a southerly to south-easterly.
