A sandy cove at the mouth of the Menalhyl, which shapes its banks. At low tide, bowly, hollow lefts break at the south end, by the river and rocks; rights and wedges pick up further north once the tide’s a third in. Best low to mid, as higher tides bring backwash. It takes swell from south-west to north-west, closing out when big. A longboard when small, a shortboard as it builds. Tricky for learners beyond small days, and the river rips out to sea. Offshore in an easterly.
