Lackan Bay

A wide, north-facing sandy bay with lefts and rights spread along the beach and rocks at its edges. It needs a solid northerly swell, so it’s often small, but when it’s on it suits all levels, from beginners on a longboard to shortboarders. It can be surfed through the tide. Offshore in a southerly to south-westerly, and the headlands give some shelter from westerlies. Rarely crowded, with strong cross-currents when the surf is up.
