Freshwater West

The most exposed beach in Pembrokeshire, with A-frames on the central sandbars and a reef left at the south end that runs towards the beach and gets hollow with size. It holds big swells. Low tide brings faster, suckier walls, and higher tide fuller, easier waves. Mostly a shortboard wave, and one for beginners only when it’s small, as the rips run at any size. The Castlemartin firing range closes the beach to the south.
