A two-mile crescent of sand facing north-east, with peaks all along it and good banks by the Water of Philorth at the south-east end. It picks up more swell than anywhere nearby and works at all tides, best in a northerly to north-easterly swell and a south-westerly wind. When small it suits everyone, on any board. By the harbour, the Point is a long left over boulders that needs a clean north-westerly groundswell, for experienced surfers only, with a tight, crowded take-off. Rips.
