A south-facing beach break over sand between cliffs, with punchy, sometimes hollow peaks that carry more power than Tramore and hold up to around 6ft, when the lefts get heavy. Mid tide is usually best, with low tide working on bigger swells. A shortboard wave for intermediate and better surfers, and for beginners only when it’s small. It needs a southerly swell, so it’s inconsistent, and a northerly wind. The river mouth at the east end drives strong rips.
